Wait, there's a cosy little tribe here just for you!!! Well if you live in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, elsewhere in the East Bay or in the South Bay, there is.

If you like to climb (or think you might like to) and want to hook up with other climbers for one reason or another, this would be the place to do it. Gym partners, people who can teach, leaders, people with their own gear, wall rats who like to camp on El Capitan. Whatever you're looking for, please feel free to announce your presence and where/when you would like to climb.
